TTB #2: Thomas Robb, National Director of the KKK

http://tarobb.blogspot.com/

When you immerse yourself in the world of right-wing blogs like I do, it doesn't take much to scrape off the epidermis of apparent righteous God-fearing acceptability, revealing quite clearly the dermis of sexism, repression, and indeed racism. And in among all this oily sebum, we get purulent, sebaceous cysts.

One such fatty pusball (hey, I'm just following the metaphor out to its logical conclusion; don't blame me for where it went) is Thom Robb. Not just the director of a terrorist group of murderers known for their hatred of and violence toward their fellow human beings, Thom Robb is also a god-fearing man and a preacher, teaching about and following in the footsteps of Jesus the Christ who loves the little children, all the children of the world. (Don't think about it too hard; you'll just end up hurting yourself.)

Oh, but read his blog. He believes in diversity, you see, because he knows the difference between Fords and Chevy's [sic] and dogs and cats. As a commenter pointed out there, to him some people are equivalent to animals and objects. Well, that explains a lot.

Anyway, have a peek through the archives; you'll have ever so much fun. And like so many other right-wingers, he probably won't publish or respond to your comment, but that's still no reason not to Troll This Blog.

  1. To be fair on the racist fundie, comparing the difference between races to the difference between Fords and "Chevy's" or between dogs and cats is not the same as *equating* people with cars or pets. His implicit argument is that the difference between white people and black people is like the difference between Ford cars and Chevy cars, or between cats and dogs - ie the differences are significant but it is arguable which one is superior.

He is not arguing that black people are like pets or cars.

He is wrong, because in fact the difference between races is far less than between cars from different manufactures, let alone between two different animal species.

But the accusation that "to him some people are equivalent to animals and objects" is pure argument from outrage.

  2. Yes, you're right. I should have said that to him, ALL people can be compared to animals or objects--some of which are very very good and some of which are unequivocally bad (but either way it's not their fault).

To him, white people are perhaps fully-kitted-out brand new 4WD Ford F250 Super Duty SuperCrew Cab Long-Beds in bright cherry red, while black people are rusty old orange/brown 1982 Chevrolet El Caminos. I mean, you can't help it that your manufacturer made you shitty (and frankly even if you tinted your windows you'd still be pretty rubbish).

Then there's you. Even though you're mostly white--I mean, a Ford--you're still pretty shitty because you've got some black in you. I mean, you've got one or two Chevy parts (is it your upholstery? Maybe your drive shaft, if you know what I mean). What I'm saying is, the only good truck is an all Ford truck, but you can't help they way you are. You should simply have never been manufactured.

    I think that's right anyway.
